The Must Have Glamping Accessory of the Season

The Must Have Glamping Accessory of the Season

Now and then you just need to “get away from it all” and escape the close confines of the city to the great outdoors. Maybe you want to do the whole Grizzly Adams routine and live off the land. Maybe you’re more the glamping type – glamorous camping with all the comforts of home while you’re on safari or pretending to be. Maybe you just want a little creature comfort while you’re drowning bait or waiting for an unwary deer to stroll past your hunting blind.

If you’re the glamping type, and most women are (along with a large number of men who’d never admit it), maybe you like luxury camping tents and all the amenities that go along with them. There are soft beds, kitchens, rugs, lots of room to move around, perhaps even electricity and a bathroom. Naturally, of course, there have to be some comfortable seats for when you simply want to lounge back at your ease.

A Good Hunting Chair

Regardless of what you’re doing out there in the wilderness, hunting equipment is often your best bet for comfort, convenience, and price. Hunting chairs are built to withstand the weather and the elements, they’re sturdy and rugged, they can fold up, they generally don’t weigh too much, and since they’re meant to be used for hours at a time, they’re comfortable. Most of them come in various shades of brown, green, or camouflage, but since when is that a problem when you’re in the middle of the forest?

A lot of hunting chairs have adjustable leg lengths so you put them on uneven ground. You simply lengthen the legs on the downhill side and shorten the ones on the uphill side until the seat of the chair is level. It’s amazing how much difference a small thing like that can make. Level seating in the wilderness gives you the feeling you’re a civilized person instead of an uncouth barbarian.

Updating Your Fishing Gear

The same logic applies if you’re a dyed-in-the-wool fisherman. Does the saying below describe your attitude?

It’s not that fishing is so important,

It’s just that all the other concerns of mankind are so trivial.

If that’s you, then you’ve probably got dozens of tackle boxes filled with every lure, spinner, and hook known to man since the beginning of time. You take 10 or 12 poles with you on every trip, “just in case”, and all your clothes probably smell like fish. But even you need somewhere comfortable to park your rear end. If it is time to update your fishing gear (and when isn’t it?) that’s a perfect time to get a new camping chair.

Go ahead and splurge a little.

Fun in the Sun

Whether you’re going to the beach, glamping, hunting, or fishing, or maybe something else altogether, there’s nothing wrong with having a little creature comfort while you’re doing it. It’s good to be green!
